When i try to upload high resolution pictures, i get this error:
"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 10200 bytes) in D:\...\www\mediawiki\includes\media\Bitmap.php on line 194" The interesting part is its a 310 kb file with dimensions of 2550 x 1650 so its is way below the 32 mb limit. If I reduce it down to ~ 1600 x 1035 pix works. It looks like its limiting the max geometric dimensions, is there anyway to increase the limit? Alternately, is there a script or code I can use that will change the picture dimensions automatically as they are uploaded? Services like tinypic wont work because they (and everything else) are blocked where I work. I want to avoid manually changing the dimensions b/c there are ~ 10000 files. Thanks |

Hello GKeddy,
From the provided error message I noticed that you are referring to a local MediaWiki installation. In order to resolve this issue, you should increase the memory_limit in your global php.ini file, which is normally located under a directory named "php" residing within your XAMPP (or similar software) directory. Then you should restart your local Apache server and re-test the wiki's upload functionality.
